My obligations were to maintain store safety and all products safe from shoplifters by wearing regular clothing to blend in with store shoppers becoming a secret shopper.when witnessing shop lifting my duty was to maintain eye contact with suspect and continue close observation to assure suspect didn't drop down merchandise at that point if shoplifter intents to walk out with store merchandise belongings responsibility is to walk right in back of the suspect and identify yourself as a loss prevention agent and begin talking to them about cooperating by walking back inside with you to return merchandise and sign a no trespassing agreement.If shoplifter doesn't corporate and refuses to follow directions or start using any type of force or is making any type of threats you have the right to handcuff them for your safely and the safety of others and contact the police department to file a police report as well
