Major Gifts and Individual Giving

  • Determines appropriate Major Giving and Annual Fund revenue goals relative to the Trust’s expanding donor base, in partnership with the Director of Development, President/CEO and Director of Finance
  • Manages a portfolio of 125+ donors, both prospective and current
  • Participates in development and growth of a Major Gifts program, including advising on the portfolios of the Director of Development and President/CEO
  • Inspires board members to engage in philanthropic activities, improving participation numbers 50%, and achieving 100% board giving year-over-year.
  • Initiates and oversees the development of proposals and written material in support of specific major gift fundraising initiatives
  • Directly solicits donors for repeat and new gifts; fosters increased giving through case materials, program updates and exclusives opportunities
  • Files timely and accurate call reports, updates information in the SalesForce database, and tracks weekly donor/prospective donor outreach and discovery meetings conducted through in-person conversation, phone calls, and email to maintain accurate moves management records
  • Leads in-person donor cultivation and retention strategy through donor lounge, unique events, and volunteer opportunities
  • Manages Individual Giving team cultivation and stewardship strategy for current, lapsed, and prospective donors
  • Oversees donor benefits program, including concierge ticketing services, gift recognition and donor lounge experience

Annual Fund

  • Leads annual fund strategy; creates and oversees annual fundraising campaign calendar, providing detailed strategies including email messaging, direct mail materials, targeted individual asks, donor segmentation, giveaways, gift acknowledgement and stewardship
  • Provide quarterly Annual Fund progress report for stakeholders, tracking Individual Giving Actuals year-over-year
  • Advise on reporting needs and data management to inform strategy and track growth

Strategy

  • Provides Annual Fund analytics and industry trend reporting and research to leadership and board
  • Shares information and insights with other Trust staff, including programming and external relations, to ensure effective program development, program evaluation and messaging
  • Assists in the creation of case materials that reflect a thorough understanding of the organization’s mission, vision, philanthropic priorities, and campaign priorities
  • Advises on donor communications, including concierge and programming updates, surveys, special event invitations, and Broadway season messaging
  • Prepares communications and presentation materials for donor, board, and Development Committee meetings

Leadership

  • Hires, manages, and coaches the full-time Individual Giving team members, including the Donor Stewardship Supervisor, and Donor Stewardship Coordinators
  • Builds team and processes to support growth of individual giving initiatives, and the development department in general
  • Advised on team restructure to support transition from a membership model to a philanthropic individual giving program
  • Attends and/or runs cross-departmental meetings, Development Committee board meetings and Individual Giving team meetings
