Provided individualized care to patients while in Phase One recovery.

In 2021, I was asked to be part of a team to develop a preoperative clinic SOP. The day of surgery cancellation rates, prior to establishing the preoperative clinic, were 19-42%. In the last five months of 2024, the day of surgery cancellation rates was in the single digits. I provided patient education, physical assessment, and an extensive chart review of patients requiring surgery within 30 days of surgery, and I collaborated with anesthesia and surgeons on any concerns noted. I educated new staff members who joined the pre-op clinic since it started in late 2021.

• Provided care to all inpatients with epidural, regional catheters and ketamine infusions
• Completed in depth review of all consults submitted to the acute pain service for patient care

• Evening house supervisor of a 160 inpatient bed private hospital.
• Coordinated staffing for all of the inpatient units

• Shared responsibilities of several FDA medication research projects that the chairman of the anesthesia department Dr Joel Johnson was the primary investigator
• Shared responsibilities of implementing an interventional pain management clinic

• Charge nurse of a level 1 emergency room
• Responsibilities included staffing, patient flow according to acuity
• Maintaining communication with outside facilities transferring patients
• Maintaining communication with dispatch center and helicopter services
• Designed and implemented the conscious sedation protocol for use in the emergency department
• Member of the house wide code blue committee
