Assistant golf professional

  • I was in charge of the golf cart/ outside service staff. Making sure bags are out and put on carts if we are having a shotgun.
  • I did club repair. Mainly just re-gripping golf clubs. I was in charge of that.
  • I worked alongside the director of golf, head pro, and other assistant golf professionals to ensure the members were taken care of.
  • I ran the golf shop at times. I participated in beat the pro competitions during tournaments, or outings for the members. For example, I did a beat the pro day when I started on a par 3. If members hit the ball closer to the pin than me I gave each member a sleeve of Tour Speed Titleist golf balls. I did beat the pro day with driving on the first hole to get outings started as well to see if I could be outdrove and in the fairway.
  • I did payroll at times. Before I just left me and the head pro were working with the other golf staff members planning out the 2024 event schedule such as senior men's groups, ladies groups, RSMGA, stuff like that. I was in charge of opening and closing the golf shop as well as the clubhouse on Monday and Tuesday. I worked with the starters everyday if I was in the pro shop I would have a radio on me and let them know of any changes/ updates on the tee sheet, so we make sure we close the books right each and every day. I was in charge of doing inventory every month with the other assistants. I mass sure each day when I got to work that tee sheets were printed for the cart girls, food and beverage manager, clubhouse manager, and for the starters. When I started at Raintree I did so much and was active working with members. This time of year though is mainly focusing on this upcoming years schedule and strategic planning. I have been around the game my whole life. Played public courses all around growing up. My dad was a member at Raintree and TPC Piper Glen while he was also the head golf professional at The Peninsula club. My dads father was a member at The Plantation in Jacksonville, Florida and he was a member at TPC Sawgrass. My mom's father started the company welders supply in Charlotte, NC. He then sold it and it became National Welders, and now it is known today as just Air-gas company. He is still a member at Olde South public golf course in Hilton Head, South /Carolina because he is an investor and part owner of the course. He is a member at Carolina country club and TPC Piper Glen in Charlotte, North Carolina. He lives in Naples, Florida for most of the year though for about 20-25 years. He and Mike Ditka are business partners. My grandfather is an investor and part owner at Olde Florida as well. I go to Naples a couple times a year if possible and play out at Olde Florida every day that I'm there and I will always reserve one day to go play out at Tiburon. When Ditka had restaurants in Chicago, Naples, etc. that's how they met. My dad after he was a golf professional moved us down to Naples, Florida for a bit before coming back. He ran the restaurant for Ditka and my grandfather.
  • I did everything that a golf professional would do at Raintree besides give lessons to low handicappers. I can give lessons to people new to the game of golf and junior golfers.
