In addition to my retail experience, I completed Electrical Apprenticeship coursework at Grand Rapids Community College under the instruction of Douglas Wiersma. Through this training, I gained a strong foundation in electrical theory and installation practices, including wiring residential and commercial systems, renewable energy systems such as solar installations, and various lighting controls ranging from single-pole to four-way switches. I also learned the differences and applications of common wiring types, including UF, NM, and THHN conductors. Additionally, I was introduced to electrical controls and automation concepts, which became one of the most interesting aspects of the program due to the problem-solving and technical knowledge involved. I am eager to apply both my leadership experience and electrical training in a role that offers opportunities for continued growth and success.
