The Prison + Neighborhood Arts/Education Project (PNAP) Saturday Art Resident is responsible
for activating the studio space at Walls Turned Sideways during drop-in art hours on Saturdays.
This position fills the art offerings at WTS, creating a space for community members to use WTS
equipment and supplies to create.
Student worker at the SAIC foundry. Assisting in metal sales, maintenance, and safety. Helping students with wax working and ceramic shell molds.
Student organizer and club leader for the SAIC Casting Club. Facilitating small metal jewelry casting. Teaching students how to use the tools and skills necessary to do lost wax casting. Creating lesson plans, making a budget and negotiating funding.
Community intern for the Walls Turned Sideways Gallery. Helping with their various projects, organizing files, scanning documents, helping with various events, and editing videos of artist interviews. Helped PNAP build out their first gallery/community space and organize the first exhibition there.
Nannied for a family in Chicago with a 5 year old and 1 year old. Spent a lot of time making arts and crafts.
Planned and taught daily art classes for campers ranging 8-16 years old. Created budgets for materials and end of session exhibitions for family members to see their children’s work. Facilitated artist statement workshops for older campers.
Tool cage attendant. Sign out various metalworking tools and assist students in projects.
