Ariel Lasat

• Enhanced air traffic efficiency by effectively managing and coordinating aircraft movements.

Clearance Delivery:

• Obtains, posts, updates and relays ATC clearances per FAAO 7110.65 series and SCT/NZY LOA
• Process flight plans and requests for local stereotype / TEC routes
• Verifies with Radar Supervisor for daily NOTAMS
• Coordinates with SCT Flight Data for daily NAVAID outages
• Passes all arrival strips to arrival controller and enters flight plan information into STARS
• Obtains hourly weather information for North Island and Imperial Beach and forward that information to SCT
• Other duties as assigned by the RADAR supervisor.

Radar Final Controller

• Provides instructions necessary for aircraft to conduct PAR/ASR approaches
• Issues traffic advisories and safety alerts
• Ensures proper functioning and alignment of all related equipment
• Maintains GCA Run sheet
• Other duties as assigned by the Radar Supervisor or FWS.

Tower Flight Data

• Operates interphones, crash phone and communication equipment, as required
• Receives and relays aircraft movement data
• Operates ATIS equipment
• Operates FDIO equipment
• Conducts Tower Visibility Observations utilizing North Island Tower visibility check points as directed by the Tower Supervisor.

Ground Control

• Formulates and issues ground movement clearances to aircraft and vehicles operating on the airport
• Transmits current weather and field conditions, as required
• Completes traffic count at the end of each calendar day
• Assists Local Control in visually scanning runways.

Local Control (CTO)

• Formulates and issues clearances and control instructions to ensure separation between aircraft and between aircraft and vehicles operating under the jurisdiction of the tower
• Coordinates with appropriate operator positions and other facilities
• Provides flight assistance service to aircraft
• Operates airport lighting, lighting systems and visual landing aids
• Provides initial notification and dispatch of emergency personnel and equipment for aircraft emergencies and mishaps.

Tower Supervisor

• Coordinates and directs control of aircraft operating in assigned airspace and vehicular traffic operating on runways, taxiways, and other designated areas of the airfield
• Briefs the control tower watch team on weather conditions, traffic, equipment status, field conditions and special evolutions
• Assigns personnel to operating positions according to individual qualifications and training requirements as directed
• Assigns trainees to qualified OJTI
• Notifies SAR agencies of aircraft in distress and provides assistance during emergencies
• Completes tower equipment checklist at the beginning of each watch
• Ensures operations and coordination is accomplished per the Facility Manual, local procedures, and applicable directives
• Monitors positions as controller experience/traffic dictates
• Maintains logs per NAVAIR 00-80T-114, FAAO 7210.3 series, and local directives
• Ensures ATIS is updated to reflect field or significant weather changes
• Places trouble calls as necessary
• Operates airfield lighting equipment
• Ensures Current Airfield Summary, PPR sheets, and NOTAMs are available
• Initiates accident/incident reporting procedures per NAVAIR 00-80T-114 and Facility Manual
• Ensures compliance with Bird Avoidance/Strike Hazard procedures
• Ensures the daily traffic count is completed and forwarded to the Tower Chief.

Facility Watch Supervisor (Special Category):

• Ensures an equipment checklist is performed at the beginning of each watch and saved on the ATC Shared Drive
• Refers all noise complaints to the ODO
• Notifies the Branch Chief/LCPO about any facility type problems such as plumbing, elevator, electrical power to the building, etc
• For outages that occur after office hours, notify the ODO
• Ensures traffic count is conducted at close of each business day utilizing the traffic count form
• Notifies GEMD, SCT, and SAN of all scheduled field closures
• Monitor controllers' fitness for duty
• Ensure all controllers on duty, regardless of rank, conduct themselves in a professional manner in the performance of their duties
• Refer civilian media personnel to the Public Affairs Office
• Notifies the ODO for any unauthorized airborne activity in the airspace, such as kites, balloons, para-sails etc
• Notifies the ODO of any unauthorized vehicles on the airfield
• Notifies the LCPO and Tower Branch Chief when the airfield is out of category
• Receives a detailed brief from the FWS on duty and brief the oncoming crew of any pertinent information.

Operations Duty Officer

• Initial point of contact for support requests, noise complaints, flight line physical security after normal work hours, and emergency actions until relieved by a proper authority.
