I have been working in the pharmacy for almost nine months now since I got into the department at Publix, I took a six month training earning my certificate for Pharmacy Technician and shortly after that earning my license by Registering under the State of Florida. I have learned so much in such a short amount of time of how to carry out Data Entry, Product Dispensing, Releasing the prescriptions to our Customers, Ordering Medications and Supplies, learning the different drugs and there classification as what level of a controlled product it is, and learning there whole computer pharmacy system. I have also learned how to bill our insurances and communicate with the different insurance companies when there is a problem with a prescription with a high copay or for example when the customers has not met there deductible. I have quickly learned how to work effectively and solve any problems that I come across.

I have been working for Publix for 4 years now and throughout the years I have switched from three different departments in the hopes of exploring different job careers and seeking new opportunities. Until I reached becoming Pharmacy Technician which is the department I am currently working in and the one I plan to make my career. In this department I perform different types of activities throughout the day to give the most effective premier customer service to all of our customers who come in our store to get there prescriptions filled. Aspharmacy technicians we receive prescriptions, we carry out data entry for those prescriptions, we fill the prescriptions and make sure that we are using correct measurements all the time and that we are able to analyze and solve mathematical problems with each prescription we receive, and finally we release these prescriptions to our customers. That is just a short description of the basic things we do in the pharmacy we also help our pharmacist by putting away all orders that come in from our warehouse and our central fulfillment and we make sure we order enough supplies for the department. I plan to become a Pharmacist in the future with my schooling and I love that this is hands on experience and a step closer to my career.
