  • As a Deputy Chief, I exercise supervision, administrative management, budget management, program development, HR actions, and technical direction of the Rehabilitation Section of the PM&R Service
  • Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources for the service such as: recruitment & retention, retirement, hiring processes, labor laws, etc.
  • Our service has approximately 60 employees (administrative staff, MDs, physician assistants, RNs, LPNs, chiropractors, health technicians, speech pathologists, physical therapists, PT assistants, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, recreational therapist assistants, and audiologists).
  • I develop, organize, direct, manage, supervise, control, and implement policies and procedures in focused clinical programs and HR functions of the service
  • I make decisions that affect staff and other resources with a wide latitude of control and independent judgment
  • I exercise supervisory and oversight responsibilities such as planning and scheduling work; assigning work to employees; accepting, amending, or rejecting completed work; assuring that production and accuracy requirements are met; completing HR actions for employees; creating and ensuring classification of PDs & Functional statements, the sole ERLR point of contact for the service (understanding of and applying HR principles, HR policies, fact-finding, employee relation laws and negotiations with the Union and use of the master agreement), appraising performance and recommending performance standards and ratings
  • Established several SOPs, policies, and procedures
  • I performed a wide range of HR principles and practices, served as our labor management point of contact, was the consultative point of contact between our service and HR, and wrote and obtained classification on Position Descriptions and Functional Statements, Market Data, SSRs, etc
  • Strategic planning, budgets, and organizational mission and responsible for implementing that within the service
  • I completed the Emerging Leaders Development Program, HRO training, Crucial Conversations training, Innovation Academy, green and yellow belt, and getting things done course
