• Oversight of new employees, OMT students, medical students, and resident ophthalmologist in technical training with ophthalmic equipment, clinical procedures, and patient care
• Managing a high volume patient clinic while maximizing performance for patient care by monitoring daily activities and mentoring team members.
• Operating ophthalmic equipment for patient eye examinations such as corneal topography, specular microscopy, Goldmann applanation, Humphrey visual field, refractometry, lensometry, and A-scans.
• Completing detailed fittings of toric, multifocal, monovision, scleral, RGP's, and hybrid contact lenses for corneal disease and penetrating trauma patients. Instructed patient in care and use of various types of soft contact and medically necessary lenses.
• Preparing patients and assisted in laser treatments, paracentesis, air-fluid exchange, and ocular injections of anti-VEGF drugs or steroids.
• Monitor and facilitate patient flow in a high volume clinic working collaboratively with other clinical staff.
• Collaborating with physicians and medical staff to preform diagnostic testing such as fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, OCT's, slit lamp photography, B-scans, and indocyanine green angiography to diagnose patients with diseases and other ocular issues.
