Ava LaPensee

Since October 2022 I have been working as a team member at Jimmy John's and shortly was promoted to be shift manager full time. During that time I discovered what it means to be an effective team leader and to fulfill my responsibilities without needing to rely on the assistance of others. My role as a manager includes but is not limited to the following duties:

• Handled escalated customer issues effectively, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills while upholding company values and standards.
• Trained new employees on company policies, procedures, and job responsibilities, ensuring seamless integration into the team.
• Excelled in every store position and regularly backed up front-line staff.
• Supervised employees and oversaw quality compliance with company standards for food and services.
• Cooperated with coworkers to improve customer experience and manage storefront.
• Tracked receipts, employee hours, and inventory movements.
• Maximized profitability by monitoring labor costs closely, optimizing staff deployment based on expected customer traffic patterns.
• Improved overall team performance by effectively delegating tasks and providing clear instructions.
• Took multiple counter, phone, and drive-thru orders each shift.

While working at Rivers Edge, I learned almost every position available. I strive to make myself an all around useful asset, and believe I successfully did so while being employed there.

• Topped pizzas with right ingredients based on orders utilizing recipe-directed amounts and distribution methods.
• Took over 30 phone orders every shift.
• Rolled and shaped dough to correct sizes and shapes based on orders to fit in oven and cook evenly.
• Learned and memorized menu items and specials to provide accurate and up-to-date information to kitchen staff.
• Operated pizza oven and other kitchen equipment safely to protect team members from harm and equipment from damage.
• Developed strong time management skills by juggling multiple orders during peak hours without compromising quality.
