I am a student athlete at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth pursuing a bachelors in Management Information Systems and minors in Sustainability and Management. Through my courses at the university I have learned basic concepts in programming, and introduction to the object paradigm. As well as introduces to the concept of the object paradigm and taught how to design and implement simple programs in an object-oriented language. I have also covered the basics of how to use a computer and basic software tools in the process of developing programs. I am well versed in collecting and compiling data and troubleshooting technical difficulties.
While at school I also am the Program Director and Co founder of Definition of Hard Work non profit whose mission to help low income students as mentors to help reach academic potential and understanding of financial literacy. While we also provide help with student athletes by giving out sports training services , pay for them to attend recruitment camps , and play travel team sports. For the seniors involved in our program's we work to get all application fees waived or we pay for the student. I have a talent for juggling multiple tasks at once and working under stressful circumstances. For example my ability to manage my class workload, scheduled football practices, and coordinating fundraisers for my non profit. Meeting with young students and parents through my job has helped build excellent interpersonal skills. Coming up with new innovative ways to fundraise for money has enhanced my problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
My job as a Recreational Activity Specialist has made me a talented teacher, motivator and conflict manager with solid understanding of documentation and reporting requirements. I have successful set schedules, trained new staff and monitored safety procedures. Some attributes i believe i bring to the work environment is how reliable, hardworking and devoted to finishing tasks that are appointed to me. I am looking for the opportunity to learn used technical skills, learn new software building applications and embrace new challenges that rely on my hard skills as well as soft skills like communication, teamwork and leadership.
