I am from South Korea and came to the states after 2 years of the military service in Korea. I earned an associate degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in New York. I am currently majoring in Flight Technology and Operation (FTO) and working on a commerical pilot license with holding a private pilot and instrument pilot license. I believe that I am very responsible and trustworthy. I also consider myself a hard worker and a dedicated individual. I worked as an RA for three consecutive semesters in Mohawk Valley Community College and I also received a best RA award. I tried to approach my job with a strong sense of integrity and responsibilities. As a result of working as an Resident Assistant, I was able to develop time management skills, communication skills, and problem solving skills.
I worked as an Resident Assistant for three consecutive semesters in Mohawk Valley Community College. My job as an RA was to build a strong and personal relationship with my residents residential through programming, floor meetings and intramural sports. I also acted as a mentor for students and first resource for students with academic or institutional questions. I had to make sure my residents feel safe and comfortable with living in my residential community. I held a weekly floor meeting with my residents to see if there were any complaints or issues needed to be fixed. With intramural sports and a monthly program, I was able to ensure that my residents are actively engaged with my residence hall community through those activities. I was also required to be on duty for 24 hours once every week with a duty phone. When I was on my duty, I did ensure that I took a full responsibility for helping my residents and solving any issues.
