• Coordinate with the pilot on:
• The starting location of the survey
• Fuel capacity and estimated flight duration

II. Hazard Identification & Navigation

• Identify and document potential hazards or anomalies that pose a threat to power lines.
• Navigate the system efficiently to:
• Minimize unnecessary flight paths (dead head)
• Align flight routes with scheduled fuel stops

III. Data Collection & Documentation

• Determine which issues require official documentation
• Ensure all relevant data is accurately recorded during the flight.

IV. Post-Flight Reporting

• Compile a detailed end of day report including:
• All documented issues and write-ups
• Flight tracks verifying surveyed areas and progress within the system
• Submit reports for review and record keeping

• Configure LiDAR flight planning software before each mission.
• Import KMZ files of the designated survey area
• Overlay flight corridors to define the laser scanning path
• Ensure full coverage of the target area
• Verify and optimize laser and camera settings for data accuracy

II. Pre-Flight Equipment Inspection

• Conduct a thorough inspection of all equipment
• Confirm system functionality and readiness
• Verify data storage capacity
• Ensure lens covers are removed

III. In-Flight Operations & Data Acquisition

• Initialize the system and manage real time data acquisition
• Coordinate navigation and relay flight parameters to the pilot
• Ensure the designated flight path is displayed on the pilot monitor
• Monitor key operational variables:
• Speed
• Altitude
• Data consistency
• Make real time adjustments to optimize data collection

IV. Post-Flight Data Management

• Extract data from onboard storage drives
• Transfer raw LiDAR and imagery datasets
• Ensure data integrity before submission
• Forward files to the appropriate processing teams for analysis
