• Strengthened clinical skills in postpartum assessment, FHR auscultation, preeclampsia assessment, and assisting with deliveries. Shadowed in the Newborn Nursery assisting the nurses with newborn assessments, vital signs, feeding, and personal care. Shadowed the breastfeeding and lactation medicine team gaining further insight in lactation assessments, UR Medicine lactation services, breastfeeding education for mothers of full-term and premature infants.
Golisano Children's Hospital, Pediatric General Care (96hrs)
• Provided nursing care such as physical assessments, medication administration, and evidence-based nursing interventions. Created evidence-based care plans for each patient that was cared for.
• Shadowed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cardiac Care Center gaining further insight on infant assessments and care, patient rounds, and NICU/PCCC nursing responsibilities.
