Currently, I’m working as a Critical Chief Engineer at JLL/Cyrusone Data Center in Sterling, Va. As a Data Center Critical Engineer, I’m responsible for the center’s electrical, mechanical, and network system operations,
state-of-the-art electrical distribution systems, UPS, emergency standby generation, fire alarm/suppression, and monitoring systems, Cooling systems, which include Air and Water Chillers,AHU, CRAH units, RTUs. Additionally, I oversee the scheduling, coordination, and completion of all planned and emergency maintenance of the facility and ensure these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of the critical loads supported by these systems. Also, Security, Janitorial, and other facility management functions are within my scope of responsibility.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in the Critical Facilities data center 7x24/365 a year operation, which includes Chillers, CRAH/CRAC, AHUs, Fire Detection and Suppression Medium, Generators, Voltage Switchgear, UPS Systems, STSs and PDUs, Building Monitoring Systems, etc
  • Troubleshoot and run diagnostics, conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical equipment within the data center

  • Supervise the on-site management of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is performed according to established practices and procedures

  • Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Create, utilize, and administer MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical facilities/data center facility equipment

  • Maintain a constant state of readiness in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptime.
