- Update housing details on whiteboard to communicate exact lodging location of each dog and cat within the facility so that staff could accurately locate each pet for activities and other reasons that may apply.
- Maintain a diligent supervision of safety for pets and lodging staff and set expectations for each.
- On passdown meetings provide an up to date day by day list of pertinent health/safety concerns to all lodging and activities staff as well as expectations for each shift. Delineate any issues from the shift.

- Keep morale high! Engage with techs and keep the working environment a fun place to be but with safety and productivity and professionalism above everything.
- Edit/ submit pet portraits to be reviewed by management for clients

- Maintain and organize client luggage and prepare to-go bags for client pets that are leaving ensure that each item is clean and accounted for.
- Cross check documentation on pets for feeding/medications and special handling instructions. Make sure staff are aware of these instructions and that they are being strictly adhered to.

- Contact clients about any pet issues and relay all relevant issues to the pet parent/ client .
- At client check in: Greet clients and work with front desk personnel to check in each pet. Go over feeding instructions/ medications and special handling instructions. Follow guidelines to provide expedited and professional process to provide a positive experience for the client and their pets. Be courteous and kind.
- On checkout: Bring the pet to the front to the client. Make sure all materials and luggage for that pet is with you and is accounted for. Make sure the pet is clean. Communicate a short breakdown of any noted health concerns or issues . Be professional .
- If requested, provide clients with information about the pet while they are a guest. This includes health information/ emotional state and feeding/drinking habits as well as waste eliminations.

Overnight supervisor:
This is a janitorial role with no direct staff supervision.
- Perform cleaning duties outlined by management
- Maintain time keeping paperwork for individually assigned tasks and document any issues regarding the tasks.
- Report any issues found to management i.e broken lights/ water leaking or other maintenance issues.
Daycare Counselor:
This is an active task that keeps the dogs playing/ engaged at a safe location while the pet owners/ client is busy.
- Assist daycare supervisor with daycare check ins
- Provide water for the dogs at all times
- Learn pack behaviors and keep and adaptive/ balanced pack leader approach to managing pack numbers
- Look for aggressive dogs and watch for health issues such as overheating and bloating
- Notify supervisor immediately for any health problems and behavior issues
- Intervene on any aggressive behaviors such as mounting and biting/ predatory behavior like stalking.
- Keep dogs engaged and active when appropriate, rested when necessary.
- Perform any duties requested by management
- Safety is paramount. Make certain you are performing duties within the practices of Meadowlake to ensure that you and the dogs safe!
- Notify supervisors for any concerns or issues regarding other staff members.
- Keep the daycare area clean with the proper approved methods set out by the policies dictated by Meadowlake
Training department:
This role is a full professional certification provided for by a recognized dog training organization. They provide strict curriculum that is several month long course designed to teach you methods on training dogs. I did not complete the course. However, in my short time in the training program I did follow the curriculum to best of my abilities and performed duties while in the program.
The duties were:
- Follow strict safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for myself and trainers
- Use proper leashing and handling protocols dictated by Meadowlake guidelines and training department protocols.
- Provide a clean environment by sanitizing the training room, training equipment, food preparation equipment, leashes ect.
- Cleaning the training yard with proper chemicals and methods
- Report issues following chain of command from supervisors then to management as required.
- Maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance.
- Set an example for conducting work activities for all other departments
- Professionally greet and engage with clients when appropriate
Other duties:
