Experienced in addiction studies and dedicated to becoming a substance abuse counselor, I am Bethany Collins, a 35-year-old professional. Having firsthand knowledge of the challenges individuals face in their journey towards sobriety as a recovering addict since August 17, 2021, I established and successfully ran my own AA meeting in 2022, which has been thriving for the past two years. Collaborating with a sponsor, I diligently worked through the steps to further my personal growth. Proudly a certified peer support professional, I am awaiting my official certificate after successfully passing the required assessments. Currently interning at a homeless shelter for the past two months as part of my college program, I have gained valuable experience in providing one-on-one support to residents. Complementing my practical experience, I have obtained two certificates from Ivy Tech: one in Addiction Studies and another in Human Services. Currently pursuing my associate's degree, I am eager to immerse myself in this field and continuously expand my knowledge and skills. With enthusiasm and dedication, I look forward to showcasing my abilities in this rewarding profession.
