Accomplishments
Summer 2024: I successfully set up a program with my aunt to teach English to refugee families. I went door to door in apartment complexes gauging interest and connecting with people with very little to no english skills. We gathered volunteers to teach english and held an "english club" every week at our church. Over the course of eight weeks, our program tutored 25 people. I was able to deepen my awareness of the challenges of refugee status, and to hone my skills of community engagement and mentorship.
