In my time working as a lifeguard, I enjoyed knowing that I was keeping people safe. I made sure to stay sharp on my rescuing skills and up to date on the best lifeguarding guidelines. Staying vigilant is a huge priority for me because of how important my main responsibility as a lifeguard is- ensuring safety of patrons with both responding to and preventing accidents. My favorite part of being a lifeguard is talking with patrons and talking with coworkers on breaks. I love being able to be social as a part of coming in to work. I also take care completing my secondary responsibilities, like cleaning the locker rooms, washing and folding towels, and checking on equipment.
I participated in a variety of extracurriculars throughout high school to stay active and to learn valuable lessons and practices that I can't learn anywhere else. Some notable achievements within these extracurriculars include lettering in Cross Country, Swim Team, Tennis, and Forensics, being a part of varsity in Swim Team, and earning the rank of Eagle in Boy Scouts. These extracurriculars were a great opportunity to show leadership and ability to handle many important responsibilities at once.
