Swim for Life

  • Met with Drowning Coalition of Palm Beach County, North Palm Beach Fire Rescue, North Palm Beach Aquatic Center, and Best Buddies Florida to plan the first-ever Best Buddies Palm Beach County Chapter swim meet in June, 2024.
  • The partnerships made in planning the swim meet unveiled a need for more swim instructors and facilities to offer affordable swim lessons to special needs families.
  • Obtained Water Safety Instructor certification by the Red Cross in February, 2025.
  • Obtained Adapted Aquatics (Nicklaus Children's Hospital) certification in April, 2025.

  • Offered free lessons to children of all swim abilities, including kids with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) the summer of 2025 and will continue the summer of 2026.

  • Participated in hands-on labs such as using laparoscopic tools to remove seeds from watermelons or do robotic knee surgery, and worked with orthopedic power tools used in hip replacements.
  • Was mentored by a college physics professor and a Johnson & Johnson employee who work with the BTE program.

  • Practiced swim six days a week for five straight years, and before that played baseball and was a brown/black belt in karate.

  • I was always invited to attend summer training trips to Orlando or Texas due to meeting required swim times, having near perfect attendance, and excellent behavior.
