Work History

Carpenter Apprentice

Local 436
04.2025 - 08.2025

Bridge Carpenter-

  • I learned how to use various power and hand tools. Some power tools I got proficient with were skill saws, Sawzall, grinder, drills, rattle guns, and a concrete vibrator. I also got accustomed to using my hammer, tape measure, speed square, chalk box, and various wrenches for woodwork, or formwork for concrete. I used these tools to perform precise cuts, measurements, and build various things around the bridge or forms. I learned how to operate a manlift, and crane rigging.
  • I learned how to work safely, under pressure from dangerous heights. I kept the workplace clean to prevent accidents. I wore PPE and anything else extra to make sure I would avoid injuries even if they were minor. I made sure to look out for not only me but my coworkers as well.

Laborer

Local 379
03.2025 - 03.2025

Fire Watch for Right of Way Clearing-

  • Performed very basic duties like using water to prevent fires from spreading. Learned how to operate a morooka. Helped others whenever a fire would break out, and watch over there spot in case they missed something.

Boiler Shutdown at Longview with Brand Safeway-

  • Helping the carpenters while tearing down scaffolding. My job was to put them onto racks, signal the fork drivers, and then sort the scaffold in the yard neatly.

Cooling Tower construction at Shinnston Power Plant-

  • Very basic clean up behind the carpenters to make sure their work space was safe. This was my first time crane rigging as well.

HVAC Helper

Patrick Davis
01.2024 - 06.2024
  • I was a helper for an independent contractor. We performed many installs, repairs, and maintenance jobs. I was always prepping tools, cleaning them up, and getting whatever was needed to finish to the job from supply stores.
  • Some basic duties I did were fitting duct, cutting metal, taping, running line set, press-fitting, screwing metal together with an impact, replacing capacitors, leveling ground for compressors to be placed, and staying one step ahead on what tools my boss might have needed to make him work more efficiently.
