General Manager Fleet Support
11 Years 1 Month- Eleven years experience successfully managing the Maintenance of Equipment Fleet Support Department, a department responsible for maintaining the LIRR EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) Fleet of over 1,000 railcars with on car inspection, repair and overhaul and off car component rebuild facilities including AAR (American Association of Railroads) certified wheel, bearing and air brake shops. This work is completed at two railcar maintenance facilities that have a capacity to service 70 railcars at one time and nine support shop departments. All shops combined with a total annual material and labor budget in excess of 180 million dollars.
- Responsible for overseeing safety of employees, management of time and attendance, daily supervision, health, welfare and discipline for a staff of 775 employees represented by 7 different union collective bargaining agreements.
- Managed Plant Equipment Maintenance Department to ensure the over 3,000 pieces of rolling stock support equipment are functioning properly.
- Identified the need and initiated the creation of job task hazard analysis for safety critical operations within the facilities.
- Participated in design review and spearheaded installation of PTC (Positive Train Control) equipment on the LIRR EMU Fleet, 836 M7 and 80 M3 electric locomotives. Successfully implemented new inspection criteria under 49 CFR 236 to incorporate PTC into current ATC periodic, annual and six year inspections.
- Successfully managed M7 Fleet modification programs to install CCTV systems, 250 Hz ATC System upgrades, diagnostic system upgrade and the HVAC Control Rack upgrade
- Successfully managed department response to major fleet defects including M7 gear box high speed bearings, M7 Traction Motor Bearings and excessive M7 wheel flat spot defects during low adhesion season caused by fallen leaves in autumn.
- Supported M7 Fleet gear box and traction motor design retrofit testing and implemented all design changes on gear box and traction motor builds in response to design changes.
- Managed wreck crew operations from 2016 -2021 and was instrumental in procuring new equipment to modernize and formalize wreck crew operations. Participated in derailment and rail incident committees to provide equipment operations knowledge and support. Physically participated in and lead many major re-railments.
- Ensured compliance with ETS testing for all train movement under CFR 217
Deputy General Manager
3 Years 4 Months- Maintained a safe shop working environment, ensuring that Supervision performed daily job briefings and followed up on housekeeping concerns.
- Met or exceeded daily MU service requirements for a three year period while establishing new maintenance programs and navigating budget reductions.
- Established shop work plans and implemented reliability centered maintenance programs for the M7 EMU Fleet including truck, air brake, propulsion, doors and auxiliary power.
- Responsible for all day to day activities at the two LIRR forward maintenance facilities (Hollis Queens and Manhattan) in regards to Periodic Inspection, overhaul and running repair for a fleet of 1006 Electric Multiple Unit Locomotives.
- Identified, reviewed and established remedial actions for equipment failures found during CFR 49 parts 229 and 238 inspections and in alignment with all Long Island rolling stock maintenance standards.
Master Mechanic
4 Years 7 Months- Trained employees on safe maintenance practices.
- Implemented periodic inspection guidelines, for the Electric Multiple Unit Fleet of 836 M7 Railcars following criteria outlined in CFR 49 parts 229.23, 229.25, 229.27, 229.29, 238.307 and 238.309.

- Provided feedback to design engineers on failures of components identified during the 4,000 mile "burn in" testing.

Production Supervisor
1 Year 7 Months- Was responsible for a work cell of up to 50 employees engaged in railcar movement, assembly line production, final customer acceptance, punchlists repair and design change modifications.
- Supported field service with technical expertise on the Amtrak Acela coaches at the Ivy City Maintenance Facility, Washington, DC.
- Directed transfer of railcar shells from flat cars to bogies, utilizing light switching locomotives, bridge cranes and screw jacks.
