  • I traveled to different parts of the country, mainly the Midwest, and am stationed at various chemical plants and refineries.
  • Most job assignments require immediate deployment. I was required to work alongside rescue techs and other specialized individuals to provide on-site integrated industrial safety and rescue services to the clients during either turnaround jobs and tank and terminal jobs, also known as confined spaces.
  • I also respond to emergency on-site medical situations, to include, heat stroke, dehydration, seizure, lacerations, heart attack, etc. I closely monitor the situation/injury and either successfully deescalate the situation or provide standby medical services until additional medical assistance arrives.
  • I also provide technical rescue standby including confined space rescue and technical rope rescue. I participate in assessing risks, preparing rescue equipment, and planning practical and effective solutions toward safe working practices in compliance with each respective client’s standards.
  • As crew chief I am now responsible for the team I travel with. Which includes making sure my rescue techs that I travel with are making their rounds, are stationed where they need to be, and assisting the rescue techs with any questions they may have. While being a crew chief it is my responsibility to fill out all the paperwork and reports during the onsite job as well as being caught up with all OSHA requirements for industrial work.
