• Sergeants supervise confinement personnel engaged in all functions related to receiving and safely housing inmates confined within County jail facilities. Confinement Bureau supervisory duties include, but are not limited to, supervision of personnel assigned to: Classification, Identification, Release, Court Update, Error Resolution, TDC Desk, Grievance, Inmate Housing, and ancillary support functions.

• Corporals supervise floor officers, ensuring the mandatory Hourly Safety and Security Inspections of all inmates are made and recorded. Supervises and assigns duties to floor officers and confinement operation technicians. Maintains secure custody of accused and convicted inmates. Prevents escapes, assaults and misconduct by inmates; monitors "on-the-job training" for new jailers; maintains the safety, health and wellbeing of inmates; maintains personal hygiene among inmates; and monitors inmates on special diets. Confinement Bureau supervisory duties include, but are not limited to, supervision of personnel assigned to Inmate Housing and ancillary support functions.

• Detention Officers supervise inmates who are confined 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the Tarrant County Confinement system to ensure the safe keeping of all inmate property and maintain care for all persons in the custody of the Sheriff. This position may also perform basic administrative duties to arrange and coordinate the surrender and transfer to Tarrant County Texas of individuals accused or convicted of offenses outside the territory of the asylum state and within the territorial jurisdiction of Texas. This position description applies to all TCSO Detention Officer positions and functions.

• Supervised daily operations of security personnel, including scheduling shifts and assigning tasks. Ensured security team members adhered to all safety regulations and policies. Conducted regular staff meetings to review procedures and performance evaluations. Monitored surveillance systems and responded to alarms or other emergency situations. Provide for the safety and security of guests, employees and property by patrolling and observing hotel, casino, and outdoor areas of the property. Excellent verbal communication skills when dealing with guest and resolving guest problems

Provides a safe, secure and positive environment for juveniles detained in the Juvenile Detention Center. Supervise the activities of juveniles in the course of meeting their educational, emotional, recreational, disciplinary and basic child care needs. Supervise family visitation and documents juveniles' behavior and adaptation to a secure, supervised setting on a daily basis. Participates and assists clinical treatment team members with groups of youth in therapeutic activities. Created a stimulating learning environment through the use of interactive activities such as arts and crafts projects. Participated in parent-teacher conferences to discuss progress and behavior of students.
