Leadership Experience

  • Division-wide Leadership Experience, Henrico, VA, 08/19, Present, Collaborated with a team of central office and school-based leaders to identify key barriers to on-time graduation for English Language Learners in HCPS using an action research methodology. Crafted a proposal for presentation to the division leadership team. Resulted in the creation of the Newcomers Academy, funded with two dedicated ESL teachers and a school counselor. Supervise the Newcomers Academy, resulting in significant gains in Access Scores and improved student retention for SLIFE students at Tucker High School. This program is now expanding to two other HCPS high schools. Graduation Completion Index and Dropout Prevention Team. Work in partnership on two subcommittees, identifying root causes and potential remedies to rising dropout and decreasing GCI rates.
