Brandon "Troy" Wilcox

I worked as a traveling nurse in the PNW region, primarily in Washington and northern Idaho, in various facilities and specialties, such as Spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, skilled nursing, and drug and rehab.

As a 50% owner of a small healthcare staffing agency, I founded, maintained, and managed the business. My responsibilities involved:

Monitoring the inner systems of the company, which included contract negotiations with healthcare clients. Nurse recruitment campaigns.

Document compliance audits. Covering shifts as a floor nurse when needed. I also oversaw the day-to-day operations of the business. This included managing employee schedules, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring the company complied with all relevant laws and regulations. I was also responsible for maintaining strong relationships with healthcare clients, assessing their staffing needs, and providing high-quality nursing staff.

I worked full-time as a registered nurse throughout my time at Primum, three years of which were at Comprehensive Health Care in Yakima, where I provided care for patients with a variety of mental health conditions, including high-level psychosis. This experience helped me develop valuable skills in the field, such as conducting psychological and medical assessments, developing treatment plans, crisis management, and de-escalation techniques. I gained a deep understanding of our regions mental health issues and how to provide effective care for patients with complex needs.

At FBH, I Provided nursing care and oversight to patients requiring medical or psychiatric services. I supervised nursing staff assigned to psychiatric units, ensuring the quality of care was maintained according to state regulations. I have provided oversight and direction to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. I evaluated the effectiveness of nursing interventions through ongoing assessment and comprehensive documentation of patient response. I collaborated with medical professionals regarding medication management strategies for clients requiring psychiatric care.

At Saint Luke's Rehab. I had the pleasure of working with a large population of traumatic brain injury. There, I gain an understanding of the correlation between brain function and behavior, During my time at Saint Luke's Rehab, I was able to observe and work with individuals who had experienced traumatic brain injuries and learn about the various ways in which these injuries can affect brain function and behavior. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the crucial role that rehabilitation plays in helping individuals regain their independence and quality of life.
