In the role of Police Dispatch Supervisor, I routinely manage the following tasks (including all of the duties of a line level Police Dispatcher):

• Complete audio and event print out requests for the District Attorney's Office, Public Records Requests, and investigative requests from both Command Staff and the Police Professional Standards Unit. In the past 3 years I have completed as few as 430, and as many as 600 requests per year.
• Complete monthly scheduling for my immediate shift of employees and for alternate shifts when other shift supervisors are absent. Enter the schedules into the ISE system, approve time cards, and sort out any discrepancies with Payroll. With the launch of a new payroll system, I have worked with our payroll clerk to develop a new "how to read your pay stub" guide, and helped dispatchers find errors in their pay for correction.
• Complete monthly evaluations for trainees as well as yearly evaluations and supervisor records for employees. I have also managed several crucial conversations with employees with regards to interpersonal problems and/or complaints.
• Pull data from and update any changes in the computer aided dispatch program, phone software, or radio equipment. Report any equipment failures to the proper vendors for immediate remedy of the problem. Most recently I coordinated with our County representative on a 911 re-route project of a dozen cell towers in our city.
• Attend meetings for new equipment, new hires, or programs. I sat on the interview panel for new dispatch trainees. I also instructed my team on the new Active School Shooter Program.
• Schedule sit-alongs with Dispatch, as well as visits to other agencies for Dispatch Trainees.

• Field 911 emergency and non-emergency calls and determine level of support that is needed for response. Read system maps and caller information, and document all details in system. Handle all incoming radio traffic and distribute calls for service based on area and priority.
• Supervise and train new staff members as a Certified Training Officer since November 2013. Updated all the Geography for the Training Program as well as created a new Introductory Geography test for new Dispatch trainees.
• Served as City Police Department Representative in the 911 For Kids program taught at Newport-Mesa Unified School District locations, as well as Mentored a Senior year student at Corona Del Mar High School in the Senior Career Mentoring Program.
• Served as a City Police Department Representative giving an informative presentation at Career Day for Hesperia Unified School District in the High Desert.
• Regularly served as a member of the Baker to Vegas Running Team Support Crew, Tip A Cop & Special Olympics Fund Raising Team, Police Appreciation Breakfast Informational Video Cast, and National Night Out Host.
