Brendan Fitzgerald

Led a team of engineers within Comcast's Network Engineering team. Leaning on my vast experience with fiber, my team and I are the east coasts experts on all things fiber. Focal points included third party IRU fiber relationships, facility fiber network and diversity, design for market expansion (both fiber and DAA), and fiber specs and standards. Managed large scale budgets, worked cross-functionally with other department leads to drive priorities, partner on large initiatives, and work collaboratively towards company goals. Identified gaps in several IRU workstreams and found well over 20 million of fiber asset rent to start generating revenue.

Leading engineering strategies and supporting all phases of new architecture in partnership with Regions, Division, and National.

Strong technical and leadership background, with a focus on stakeholdering, and driving goals and targets to achieve successful results. Liason between functional teams, DPMO, and HQ.

Project highlights include FDX, RFOG to EPON, and 2G/MS enablement and other bulk spectrum work initiatives leveraging the vCMTS platform.

Working out of the WNER region of NED, I spent 9 years leading the construction department for both BAU, NGAN initiatives, and EdgeOut. Often partnering with leadership, I assisted in identifying new build opportunities for growth. I would provide analysis such as CPG agreements, competitor over-builders, architecture type, and cost of construction.
I would provide forecasts, and had direct relationships with BP’s to project manage quality, timing and delivery, and budgeting. In addition to growth, other rollouts I lead for construction included fiber optic deployment of CRAN rings, RFOG rollouts, DMA alignments, and strategy and execution of infrastructure merges during small CATV company acquisitions. CBH and Metro-E network construction and design were also day-to-day BAU workstreams for me.
