Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Assist shoppers with questions, direct them to products, and help load large, heavy items into carts.
• Floor Maintenance: Clear aisles of cardboard, shrink-wrap, and empty pallets. Pull empty boxes and face products forward so displays look full.
• Restocking: Bring down partial pallets from upper steel racks using a forklift or manual pallet jack. Break down boxes, mark unmarked merchandise, and stock shelves.
• Cleanup & Safety: Safely operate a cardboard baler and trash compactor. Ensure fall zones are clear when forklift drivers are operating.
• Front End Assistance: Frequently pulled to help cashiers bag groceries, pack orders, or assist other departments during busy periods.

Operates, monitors, and adjusts specific production or processing equipment (e.g., depanners, ovens, or proofers) to maintain product specifications.

Program Implementation: Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA standards.

Training & Onboarding: Conduct safety orientations for new hires and facilitate ongoing training (e.g., hazard communication, emergency preparedness).

Inspections & Audits: Regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analyses for workplace injuries or near-misses and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incident reports to meet legal requirements.

• Site Preparation: Clear construction sites of debris, hazards, and waste. Dig trenches, compact earth, and prepare foundational bases.
• Material Management: Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment.
• Site Maintenance: Build and dismantle temporary structures like scaffolding, ramps, and barricades. Clean work zones and safely dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment, including concrete mixers, saws, drills, and jackhammers.
• Trade Assistance: Assist skilled craft workers—such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers—with their specific duties.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Capacity to perform strenuous manual labor, lift heavy loads (often 50+ pounds), and stand for long hours.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to safely handle various hand and power tools.
• Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including OSHAstandards.
• Teamwork: Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors and effectively signal heavy equipment operators.
• Basic Math & Measurement: Capability to understand blueprints, measure materials, and calculate dimensions accurate.
