Code Compliance Director

City of Arlington TX
01.2007 - 06.2024
  • Served as Director for the last 5 years and oversaw Code Compliance and Animal Services, because of the success of the multiple programs we implemented, I was assigned other roles vital to the community.
  • We launched a very successful Mobile Tool Sharing Program
  • Assisted in the development and implementation of the City’s Short-Term Rental Ordinance
  • Lead the creation of the Neighborhood Enhancement Team, made up of different departments. We identified distressed neighborhoods and together with the community, developed focused services/programs to improve (These programs won the International Code Council award for Community Service in 2022, the American Association of Code Enforcement Community Service award in 2022 and Code Enforcement Association of Texas Community Service Award in 2022.)
  • Following the aftermath of Winter Storm URI, together with Fire, Police, Public Works, Housing and Water Departments, we helped the community with recovery efforts. Our team took the lead in identifying the most impacted properties and assisted with delivering necessary water and provisions to our residents.
  • Similar roles were assumed when the city experienced tornado episodes that devasted several neighborhoods. Assisted property owners in recovery efforts, helping secure the necessary material to address their property damages.
