- Planning: I Plan overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization
- Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the Superintendent
- Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors
- Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects
- Determine skills, materials, and equipment required to do the work
- Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work
- Inform the Superintendent of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources
- Participate in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work
- Review funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocate funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements
- Provide management with workload data, estimates, and recommendations to facilitate more effective management decisions for staffing and funding requirements to support customer units
- Explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations
- Coordinates and directs the work of units supervised

- Assure tools, special tools, test measurement and diagnostic equipment, repair parts, petroleum, oils and lubricants, and other materiel are available when needed
- While serving as the MATES Safety Officer in conjunction with my Supervisory duties from April 2010 - present, I develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised
- Implement and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements
- Ensure use of quality conform products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs
- Developing and implementing safety policies helps employers reduce accident-related costs and prevent losses due to a decline in productivity
