Planning: I Plan overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization
Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the Superintendent
Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors
Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects
Determine skills, materials, and equipment required to do the work
Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work
Inform the Superintendent of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources
Participate in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work
Review funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocate funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements
Provide management with workload data, estimates, and recommendations to facilitate more effective management decisions for staffing and funding requirements to support customer units
Explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations
Coordinates and directs the work of units supervised
Balances work load for subordinate work groups
Administration: I directly plan and establish overall leave schedules within my section
Determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for accomplishment

Assure tools, special tools, test measurement and diagnostic equipment, repair parts, petroleum, oils and lubricants, and other materiel are available when needed
While serving as the MATES Safety Officer in conjunction with my Supervisory duties from April 2010 - present, I develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised
Implement and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements
Ensure use of quality conform products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs
Developing and implementing safety policies helps employers reduce accident-related costs and prevent losses due to a decline in productivity
Determine what policies are needed and solicit input from managers and workers
Once a policy has been finalized, I alert workers about the change and monitor compliance
