  • Worked closely with the managing director to develop and implement Surfachem’s strategy, increasing the technical sales effort we had in the field and added key specialty ingredients to Surfachem’s portfolio

  • Managed Surfachem’s marketing communications activity including development of a new website

  • Initially worked in R&D as a polymer research chemist, developing polymer technology for many applications including coatings, stereolithography and water soluble plastics
  • Moved to the electrophotography group and, as part of a team, was responsible for the development of a new chemical toner for the evolving colour printing market
  • With the electrophotography group I developed into a more commercial role, monitoring industry trends and setting up an internal knowledge management system. Worked with key customers to develop bespoke toner for new to market printer systems
  • Then moved to the pharma fine chemicals division into a marketing intelligence role, supporting upper management to assess acquisition targets and supporting the sales teams to target key projects for global drugs in our customers development pipeline. Set up and maintained intranet site for the business
  • Finally then got the opportunity as a commercial development manager within the fine chemicals group, responsible for driving sales of the newly formed Early Phase Delivery Team (EPDT) in Europe through sales development directly with customers and through the overall fine chemicals sales team
