I am currently a CNA. I took a class in 11th grade that was a semester long, and it taught me how to care for residents in a safe and proper way. I also got extra training when I started working at Eastwood. Walker Methodist provided free training for 2 weeks. After all the training, I have learned how to professionally provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. I assist patients in ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics. I observe patients for any physical or emotional changes, and I assist with range of motion exercises, and any other rehabilitative activities. As a CNA, I also maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient. I am always making sure I provide assistance with eating, shaving, and oral hygiene to promote healthy habits and overall wellness.
