Telemetry- Admission and discharges. Asses, review and monitor patient's vital signs, EKG's or other life sign measuring devices, and intervene appropriately. Provide care to patient's with GI diseases, heart failure, diabetes, CVA, COPD and other acute disease/diagnosis. Give medication, operate heart monitors, and communicate with patient/family providing education, Wound care management, monitor fluid intake and output, monitor fluid and diet restrictions related to disease. Work along side Physicians and other healthcare professionals. Read and interpret labs and report abnormal findings to appropriate physicians. Assure patient satisfaction with care.
Telemetry nursing providing care to acutely ill patients. Utilizing skills such as assessment, intervention, evaluation and monitoring. Cardiac monitoring, interpreting EKG rhythms, interpreting lab results, and reporting abnormal labs, vitals and results to appropriate Healthcare Physician. Careplaning according to patients diagnosis and proper documentation. Administration of oral, IM, IV and Sub Q medications according to my job description. Assist with discharge planning and needs, then discharging patients once goals are met.
Provided direct and individualized care to patient's with life threatening conditions/diseases such as gastrointestinal diseases, heart failure, diabetes, ESRD, and other acute diagnoses while on Telemetry unit. Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medictaions or treatments in accordance with the facility's policy regarding the administration of medications. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients. Identify irregular telemetry readings and notify MD and Cardiologist. Inititae corrective action whenever patient shows symptamology after reviewing any irregularities while on telemonitoring. Recognize signs and symptoms of cardiopulmonary and respiratory emergencies and start standard interventions to stabilize patient. Provide basic, bedside care. Inititate patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation. Records patients medical information and vitals. Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol. Record all care information concisely and accurately in a timely manner. Perform other position-related duties as assiggned, depending on assignmnent setting.
Provide care to individuals with mental disabilities at the Elizabeth Ludeman Center. Monitoring and preventing spread of COVID-19 Virus during a pandemic. Educating some individuals that are able to comprehend and staff on infection control, proper PPE use and decreasing spread of infection. Monitoring signs and symptoms. Assessing vitals Q4hrs and documenting. Collaborating with M.D and interdisciplinary team to assure decrease in infection spread. Administering medications and treatments as ordered. Testing Individuals weekly for COVID-19 and isolating/quarantining them if necessary.
