  • Patient Care and Support: Assist in delivering compassionate care to patients, including obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and providing health education under provider guidance (calling patients to discuss lab or imaging results, explain certain procedures and diagnoses if patients have questions, etc).

  • Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, manage patient records in the Athena EMR (Centricity) system. Prepare and construct legal letters for the physicians (medical clearance letters, letters of medical necessity, emotional support animal letters, adoption letters, appeal letters, etc.) Assist manager with interviews for new medical assistant hires, and train new MA hires.
  • Provider Support: Assist physicians and other providers during exams and minor procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment by following proper sterilization and infection control protocols.
  • Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, and ensured accurate documentation in patient charts.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Misc. Duties: Soley operated the COVID vaccine clinic during COVID (including scheduling appointments, preparing and administering COVID vaccines, inventory and stocking of the vaccine and supplies, monitoring of patients after administration, and patient education).
