Assist with admission and discharge processes and facilitate patient transfers to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care. Acts as a liaison among nurses, physicians, and the bed coordinator to ensure the prompt and accurate placement/assignment of patients to a bed/unit. Collaborates with nursing to determine the best placement of a patient with regard to the patient’s clinical needs and unit specific scope of service. Facilitates daily meetings and the resolution of issues that affect patient flow throughout the facility.
