I completed my GED 02/07/2007. I graduated 4 months before my class did. I have always been good with people, and I can de escalate a situation very well. I have great customer service skills and can see every angle of an issue and work accordingly.
I work on the Port Of Virginia, at NIT(Norfolk International Terminals). I scan truck drivers in at the card reader, and allow them onto the port if they meet the requirements to do so.
I work at Gate 1, Gate 2, and Cargo lane. I do screenings on truck drivers to make sure they do not possess alcohol, drugs, and/or weapons. They cannot have a passenger if they aren’t construction , or carrying chemicals. If they have any of the above, the port police are called and it’s handled accordingly. Having a passenger results in the passenger walking to the bus stop off port, or the driver taking them somewhere else before entering the port again. I make day passes for the drivers if their TWIC card reads in red (lookup not found) . I do turn arounds for drivers that do not have TWIC cards, and I give them a driver escort list so they can come back with an escort. I log everything, and do incident reports as well.
I greeted potential customers for possible sales of internet, home phone, home security, and cable. I went over the best prices and deals for potential customers living area. I would enter the order on the iPad provided for my job. I would give the customer a date and time when the technician would be out to hook their service up. I always did a call back when the service connection was completed to see how their service was and if they had any questions and/or concerns.
I greeted guests, and took their drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert orders while delivering exceptional customer service.
I have excellent customer service skills, I’m a fast learner, I’m driven, and I’m dedicated
