• Work collaboratively with incumbent staff to develop and implement policies, programs, and strategies for securing inclusive, safe, and just PK-12 public schools and institutions of higher education for the Association’s 3 million members and for students.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on intersectional issues related to individuals with disabilities, including educators of and students with disabilities, and provide policy, programmatic, technical, and strategic support to national, state, and local affiliates.

Instructional Course Development:

• Provided expert guidance and resources to federal, state, and local clients related to knowledge management, staff training, skill-building, and organizational strategy, including: U.S. Department of Education, DC Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking, Bowie State University, DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education, Office of the State Superintendent of Education, DC Public Charter School Board, Ivy Hill Prep Public Charter School, Greendot Public Schools, & K. Allen Consulting, and Opportunity Consulting
• Collaborated with stakeholders and subject matter experts to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks for evaluating the impact of training and development programs on organizational goals and objectives.
• Supervised up to 12 subcontractors in the delivery and coordination of staff-facing training curriculum and development pathways for state education agency partners.
• Designed and delivered customized training sessions to address specific skill gaps for education professionals serving PK-12 students.

Training Needs Assessment:

• Conducted operational needs assessments to identify training needs of D.C. public school educators across 63 agencies and developed tailored recommendations to inform executive and governmental leadership on a 3-year training plan.

Instructional Course Design:

• Designed, developed, and delivered the following hybrid training(s) for district-wide special education leaders: Equity in Eligibility: Data Evaluation & Sensemaking, Data-Based Assessment, Evaluation, & Decision-Making, Data-Based Eligibility Determinations: Specific Learning Disability, Data-Based Eligibility Determinations: Applying Exclusionary Factors, Data-Based Eligibility Determinations: Professional Learning Community
• Assessed user accessibility of policy courses on district learning management system (LMS), via Powerschool.
• Mobilized microcredentials and digital badges facing K-12 educators to increase skills and effectiveness around instruction for students with disabilities and policy implementation

Training Support and Collaboration:

• Introduced e-learning modules and online training platforms, reducing training costs by 30% while reaching larger audience.
• Collaborated with internal and external SMEs and vendors as a contract administrator to develop annual and ongoing training plan to support implementation of District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR), Title 5, Chapter 30: Special Education.

Employee Learning & Coaching:

• Implemented DCPS IMPACT performance management system to align school-based staff training initiatives with organizational goals for student achievement and preparedness.
• Developed learning pathways to orient, train, & direct up to 42 instructional and leadership staff to achieve corporate objectives related to the success of students with disabilities.

Assessing Training Effectiveness:

• Designed and administered interim surveys and assessments to measure employee satisfaction, knowledge gain, and behavior change as result of training initiatives, facing over 115 individual staff members.
• Developed and implemented comprehensive 10-month instructional training program that resulted in 12% increase in employee competency related to instructing students with disabilities.

Research Staff Training & Development:

• Taught EDSP 315: Foundations in Reading Intervention I
• Designed and implemented in-person training and onboarding for up to 45 field-based research assistants on IES funded research-to-practice partnership projects between UMD and local education agencies.
• Developed and delivered train-the-trainer programs on data-collection processes and students data privacy procedures to ensure research site managers have necessary skills and knowledge to effectively deliver training at their respective agency sites.

• Selected and utilized evidenced-based High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) to instruct K-3 learners in literacy and math.
• Designed and delivered in-person experiential learning experiences and implemented curricular aligned with state education standards.
• Coordinated with fellow instructors to evaluate and monitor learning programs aligned with long-term mission of Texas Education Agency.

• Created and monitored implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to define student learning objectives and educational strategies.
• Utilized best practices in instructional design and human development to design and facilitate lesson plans with individual and small groups of K-2 students.
