Humanitarianism

Haiti (2021-2023):

  • Multi-Organizational Leadership: Led a strike team to establish a novel COVID testing service at the airport on behalf of the Haitian Minister of Health during severe civil unrest (2021).
  • Austere Care / Clinical Education: Conducted multiple air medical missions and deployments with Ayiti Air Anbilans, providing helicopter rescue, austere critical care, and advanced medical education across Haiti (2022-2023).

Ukraine (2022-Present):

  • Clinical Education: Recruited, trained, and mentored various clinicians throughout Ukraine through educational programs such as ATLS, PHTF, and CBRN-E.
  • Research Leadership: Led a multi-national effort to implement nine high-quality education programs in Ukraine. As team lead with the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, developed, integrated, evaluated, and transitioned a sustainable, nationally led pre-hospital trauma education program for austere environments.

Gaza (2024-Present):

  • Austere Critical Care: Attached to a small, Emergency Medical Team designated by the WHO to run a far-forward trauma stabilization point with the Palestinian Red Crescent and establish care at point of injury in Rafah and Khan Yunis.
  • Strategic Coordination: As a subject matter expert, I contributed to the development and risk assessment of medevac operations by coordinating with WHO, UN, and other agencies, enhancing patient evacuation, operational sustainability, and safety measures in a hostile environment.
