- On-Field Leadership: As a catcher I would direct the defense and call the game, demonstrating strong leadership in high pressure, fast paced environments.
- Strategic Communication: It was necessary that I communicate clearly and effectively with the pitcher and infielders to execute defensive plays.
- Strategic Thinking: I had to evaluate a wide range of factors, from the current score and inning to the opposing batter and pitchers repertoire to decide the best strategy for each pitch.
- Resilience, Adaptability, and Work Ethic: As a catcher I would have to recover to errors ans respond to constant feedback from coaches to improve. I also had to balance a rigorous academic schedule with demanding practice, training, and travel.
