• Operate and maintain forklifts, pallet jacks and other heavy equipment.
• Communication between managers, truck drivers and fellow associates.
• Audit inbound bills of lading and packing slips.
• Prepare bills of lading for outbound shipment.
• Receive and process special orders.
• Process customer returns, construct and shrink wrap liquidation pallets.
• Schedule with third party companies for trash compactor pickup, hazmat pickup, propane cage refills and palletized outbound shipments.
• Complete daily checklist, ensuring that receiving is both operable and meeting safety standards.
• Ensure hazmat storage area is organized and free of unprocessed material.

• Water and prune plants according to specific needs for plant type.
• Answer telephone calls to provide information to customers.
• Provide customer service to those who require help identifying, accessing or locating product.
• Stock merchandise on shelves, tables and hanging plant displays.
• Assist with visual display maintenance.
• Unload trucks to deliver stock to different areas.
• Clean shelves, counters and tables to maintain an organized store.
• Complete nightly closing procedure with management.
• Work with managers to troubleshoot or repair broken plumbing/hose lines.
• Ride with delivery truck drivers and assist in unloading orders to customer houses.

• Operate cash register to receive payment by cash, check and credit card.
• Accept cash and credit card payments, issue receipts and provide change.
• Train new team members in cash register operation and customer services.
• Preserve appearance of store by arranging and replenishing displays and merchandise racks.
• Learn roles of other departments to provide coverage and keep store operational.
• Discount purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Answer customer questions and provide store information.

From an early age, i've always been interested in hands on activities such as building Lego, making stop motion films out of my toys, to making digital animation projects. My favorite and most memorable days in school included hands on labs. Some examples include; creating a casing to protect an eggshell from a high drop, constructing a popsicle stick bridge to hold a heavy weight and creating a Trojan horse from popsicle sticks for middle school history project. This love for hands on projects can be seen in my choice in middle and high school elective classes. I took numerous wood shop classes, some engineering classes, welding classes, and even a trades class in my senior year of high school. There I learned about many different trades, such as carpentry, metal working, welding, pipe fitting, ect. In this class I also learned about the electrician trade. This trade was by far the most interesting. We did some hands on learning by wiring electrical outlets and learning how to strip, fit and run electrical wire through circuits.
