Dynamic educator and paraprofessional with a proven track record at NYC DOE and Imogen Roche Foundation, enhancing student learning and self-esteem through innovative musical theater, performance art and yoga programs. Skilled in curriculum adaptation and behavioral support, I am talented at relationship building and in supporting staff, families and students.
Nominated to advance from school aide to substitute paraprofessional at PS340 in Manhattan. I was hired as a school aide at PS340 in October of 2022
I work as an instructor, at 2 separate Manhattan elementary schools. My areas are glee club, musical theater and yoga. As part of my musical theater class I write original, or edit existing, musicals for performance at mid-term and end of year performances. Under my direction, enrollment in musical theater class has doubled. Additionally, as part of glee club the children perform, again twice per year, a vocal program with choreography. In both of these classes I strive to promote teamwork and collaboration. Highlighting how we are each a vital part of the performance which, in turn, promotes self-confidence.
My yoga class promotes strength and flexibility as well as increased self esteem.
As a school aide for PS 340 my duties included, but were not limited to, supervising arrival, lunch duty, yard duty, office clerical work, taking attendance, handling supplies for the school, transitioning kids, helping to end conflicts, helping with bus duty, supervising breakfast.
