Growing up in a small community of 2,000 people fostered an environment where I had the opportunity to engage in various jobs while pursuing my education. This unique experience provided me with a diverse skill set that aligns with the demands of seasonal work. I've honed my adaptability by transitioning between different roles, which has made me adept at quickly integrating into new team environments. Leading the AMHS Chinese Club for 4 years as president has been instrumental in shaping my leadership abilities. In this role, I've had the privilege of guiding a diverse group of individuals towards common goals, fostering inclusivity, and promoting cultural understanding within our school community.
Growing up in Southeast Alaska instilled in me a deep connection to the great outdoors from an early age. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, I developed a profound appreciation for adventure and exploration. In 2025, I spent two months working on a seafood processing boat in Naknek Alaska, where I quickly learned the meaning of long hours and teamwork. Some days ran 20+ hours straight, requiring me to adapt physically and mentally to the demands of the job. Living and working in close quarters with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life taught me how to communicate effectively, stay positive under pressure, and support my crew no matter how tough the day got. It was an intense but incredibly rewarding experience that pushed me to grow in resilience, adaptability, and collaboration. These skills have helped me so much in day to day life, and I can't wait to continue to learn and grow.
