  • Performed studies of all aspects of my unit's information technology and communications programs, processes, and methods. Evaluated new systems and procedures to ensure they complied with TIA/EIA standards and all applicable military standards for 48 buildings, 72 mechanical/comm rooms, 118 network nodes and routers and 36 personnel
  • Oversaw maintenance and upgrade for 1,100 laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. Configured incoming computers, tablets and phones were configured with the proper programs and security requirements as determined by National Guard Bureau
  • Submitted, tracked, and closed work orders using the Remedy work order management suite. Monitored work order assignment and completion percentages to ensure our unit was accomplishing our mission in a timely, professional manner. Coordinated significant requests with outside agencies (civil engineering, security forces, etc).
  • Collaborated with radio frequency coworkers to install Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) servers facilitating the use of RoIP to various supported agencies.
  • Utilized Multi-Protocol Label Switching to establish Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) for both RoIP and VoIP services. Configured the VLANs with quality of service settings that accommodated the stringent latency requirements of RoIP and VoIP
  • Installed, terminated and tested category 6 cabling in accordance with EIA/TIA 568B standards. Used Fluke CTDR testers to ensure bandwidth and attenuation on the cabling was within specifications
  • Installed, terminated, spliced and tested single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling between multiple buildings at my location. Utilized a Fujikura fusion splicer and Optical Time Domain Reflectometer to repair fibers as needed and verify loss levels were within specifications
  • Coordinated with installation civil engineers to centralize our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning network. Assisted in the installation of programmable logic controllers in 31 buildings and created a VLAN to connect and enable remote monitoring
