Years of Senior Leadership Experience
The Regional Director (RD) provides Senior Regional Management and Oversight to Virginia’s Department of Veteran Services (DVS) Virginia Veteran and Family Support (VVFS) program.
The Northern RD reports to VVFS Director and manages Five Offices and 13 personnel, two of which are supervisors. The RD ensures that quality peer support and care coordination services are provided throughout region in timely and professional manner.
The RD trains two Supervisors—the Assistant Regional Manager, and the Regional Coordinator— as well as Resource Specialists, Veteran Peer Specialists, and Veteran Justice Specialists (and other positions as applicable) under their supervision to provide outreach and direct services.
• Provide regional oversight for direct services staff providing resource connections, care coordination and behavioral health services to Virginia’s military veterans.
• Provide development and modification of program policies, performance management standards, and strategic plans to VVFS Senior Leadership Team.
• Develop and maintain a regional contract network of private sector licensed mental health clinicians to provide evidence-based mental health & rehabilitative treatment.
• Utilize the Client Management System (CMS) performance data to guide regional services delivery and statewide strategic planning efforts.
•Manage the regional budget for program operations and services delivery. Provide monthly budget reports to the Program Director and Finance Director.
• Provide training presentations to community partners to increase awareness and access to services for SMVF.
• Develop and maintain effective community partnerships to identify and bridge gaps in behavioral health, rehabilitative and supportive service needs and programs for SMVF.
• Recommend changes, revisions, and new initiatives to the VVFS Program Director and Senior Leadership Team to address deficiencies in the services system and improve benefits and Services
• Assist the Criminal Justice Director with developing collaborations and partnerships among stakeholders focused on issues related to CJ/court involved veterans.
• Serve as Lead Instructor and Program Manager for Mission Healthy Relationships (MHR) couple’s retreat. Manage and lead MHR training team to successful provide curriculum and program four times annually.
· Provided rehabilitative and mental healthcare case management services to veterans and family members
· Facilitated combat peer support group to assist veterans encountering PTSD and transitional difficulties
· Provided peer support to veterans with service-connected injuries including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and other stress related conditions for veterans and their families
· Coordinated resource navigation and supportive services for veterans seeking assistance with housing, employment, behavioral health, VA benefits and other needs as requested
