Supported NASA JPL Mission Assurance Support Services (MASS) Contract, providing specialized technical engineering services for all JPL in-house projects and missions. These services included supporting Type 1 projects, e.g., Psyche, Europa Clipper, M2020 Testbed and Type 2 projects, e.g., CAL, PREFIRE, SunRISE, CPM, CADRE

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Inspection Report Auditor for Inspection Group
• Review/approve manufacturing, assembly and test documentation(flow plans, routers, assembly/test procedures, build books, inspection reports, discrepancy reports, waivers, certifications) used in fabrication of QCI hardware to ensure traceability, completeness and the sign-offs are accordance with the sub-contract or JPL internal requirements
• Ensure released drawings are under configuration control for the build of Flight and/or QCI hardware using institutional CM tools
• Assure mandatory inspection points are defined for QCI hardware.
• Witness and/or inspect build of hardware. This includes assembly of mechanical and electrical(PWA, cables) hardware thru torquing, bonding, solder (J-STD001FS), proof testing and lifting operations, safe-to-mate, power on,
• Document non-conformances, anomalies, shipping/receiving inspections, final acceptance and provide traceability on Flight and/or QCI hardware on Inspection Reports
• Review test procedures, set-ups, and perform pre and post-test inspection of QCI hardware GSE
• Witness and monitor all environmental testing (Vibrational, Thermal Vacuum, EMI/EMC) of QCI hardware as a unit, or as an element of a larger assembly according to written, approved procedures and identify measures of protection related to the safety of the unit and personnel
• Conduct post-test inspection to determine if QCI hardware has been compromised
• Ensure personnel handling, building or testing of QCI hardware is trained and certified to standards approved by QA organization
• Surveil floor activities and ensure compliance with ESD control requirements
• Participate in Delivery Reviews (Hardware Review and Certification Record and Support Equipment Certification Record for Flight hardware and Ground Support Equipment to ATLO and Customer)
• Participate in Facility Safety Surveys and Occupational Safety Surveys by identifying risks and ensuring closures of action items
• Escort QCI hardware from within JPL campus
• Source inspections at vendor facilities
• Delivery of hardware to customers

Supported IT&L in assembly, integration, test of space systems including James Webb Space Telescope operations in high bay and transitioned off to manufacturing support when project was ending.

• Ensure compliance of institutional requirements
• On floor support included witness of stack up verification against drawing requirements, torquing operations, mates and de-mates of connectors, bonding operations.
• Witness deployments of Solar Array, Primary MIrror, SMSS(Secondary Mirror), Sunshield.
• Support Environmental testing including vibrational and Thermal Vacuum
• Receiving inspection of hardware from vendors
• Documenting anomalies and non-conformances via Discrepancy reports
• Perform final inspection against drawings, Configuration managements and relevant standards
• GD&T inspections via Video measuring equipment and CMM(Zeiss Calypso Software), surface plate inspection, calipers, gauges and comparators
• Visual inspection of surface plating workmanship by utilizing test procedures and pass/fail criteria
• Witness proof testing of flight hardware and MGSE

Support production in Quality Assurance Inspector role in Tube Shop, Grid Fins, Landing Legs, Sub-assemblies, COPV

• Perform Final, In-process and courtesy inspection on welds, tube component and assemblies
• Perform Final Documentation verifying material, tube bend, flaring, OTW, X-Ray, Insulation, Proof and Leak Operations
• Verify components and assemblies comply with drawing, work orders and material and process specifications
• Create Issue tickets for non-conforming tube components and assemblies including photo documentation, measurements in Powerpoint attachments
• Perform borescope inspection to verify tubes and COPV bottles meet cleanliness requirements and are free of corrosion, FOD and damage
• Witness torquing operations
• Orbital Tube Weld Inspection Qualified

• Worked in Special Connectors Team but flexed to Composites and fastener divisions.
• Perform receiving, In-process and Final Inspection.
• Perform 1st piece FAIR.
• Verify components and assemblies met P.O., router drawing specification.
• Worked on critical assemblies and components for shipments to G.E. Nuclear, United Launch Alliance, Raytheon, GSI, government and defense.
• Create AS9102 FAIR.
• Create Conformity and Inspection Reports.
• Report discrepancies in Certifications, material certifications and processing certifications.
• Verify material is DFARS and Processing is NADCAP Approved.
• Report discrepancies of parts that do not meet drawing requirements in NCR.
• Train new inspectors on inspection techniques and verifying certifications.
• Discarded rejected products, materials and equipment that did not meet specifications.
• Monitored production operations for compliance with specifications and promptly reported defects and identified and helped resolve non-conforming product issues.
• Maintained a high standard of workmanship by using only approved data, materials, tools and test equipment.
• Inspected outbound shipments and conducted random sampling as well as 100% inspections to ensure product quality.
