My diverse professional and academic experiences have shaped the foundation of the clinician I am becoming. Early work in the service industry taught me responsibility, discipline, and the ability to remain patient and grounded in fast-paced environments, while leadership and customer-focused roles strengthened my communication skills, conflict management, and capacity to support individuals under stress. Through my psychology coursework, LGBTQ+ research involvement, and leadership within university organizations, I have developed a deep understanding of human behavior, trauma, and interpersonal dynamics, as well as a commitment to empathy, reflective listening, and cultural humility. These combined experiences have prepared me to enter my practicum with confidence, curiosity, and compassion, and I am eager to apply what I have learned in a clinical setting as I continue to grow into an effective, ethical, and client-centered mental health counselor.
