detailed in to a WL-4352-10 Composite Fabricator Leader; my daily duties of a WL (work leader)consist of inputting employee’s time and leave, selling end items, updating charts, turning in tools for repair, writing and submitting 202’s, running overtime roster’s, and delegating work responsibilities to swing shift. To accomplish these task’s I use the following programs such as CDM202, JEDMICS, G337(ITS), FEMWEB and LDMS. I use my management skills to closely work with employees to solve any work related or parts problems to ensure there is no slowdown in our work flow and end items make their scheduled due dates in each gate established in our waterfall chart. As a training leader I make sure each employees training is update and current in TSS. I ensure each employee is scheduled for training and don't go overdue in TSS or miss their appointments. As a Composite fabricator, I work on B-1, B-52, E-3, E-6 and KC-135 aircraft. I modify, assemble, repair, fabricate, remove and install composite parts, structures with straight and curved surfaces and a number of interconnecting parts and components to their original level of strength and durability. To plan and lay out composite items and assemblies for items, I apply a full range of manufacture techniques. I perform casting and/or bonding operations to complex advanced composite assemblies. I use a full range of curing methods including the use of heat controllers, and ovens. I modify, repair, and manufacture o variety of aircraft parts constructed of advanced composite materials such as aramid, boron, carbon, and other types of fibers and adhesives. By using sealants, advanced adhesive materials, and rivets, I perform bonding of metal to composite materials. In order to perform repair, modifications, and manufacture processes I determine proper methods. In order to manufacture composite parts to their final dimensions, I form, cure, and shape casting. I have knowledge in composite fabricating of the physical properties and working characteristics of advanced composite materials and compound ingredients, of metals, metal properties, and metal characteristics. I use appropriate tooling, adhesive, material, and technique for fabrication. During the fabrication process, I use composite pre-fit, lay-up, portable bonding, hand lay-up, debulking, vacuum bagging, and co-cure applications. In order to determine and select or substitute the approved materials to be used in bonded assemblies, I use working characteristics of a wide range of advanced composite compounds and materials, based on compatibility, strength, weight, and cure temperatures. I select and substitute materials by using a wide range of manufacturer’s instructions and specifications. To obtain the required strength, drape, stiffness, and bulk on fixtures, molds, and final assemblies, I consider the weave and density. I use curing ovens, and heat blanket controllers. I use a variety of equipment such as portable saws, high speed routers, sanders, diamond and carbide tip hole saws, ultrasonic cutting machines, shaping, forming, and molding tools and equipment. I use rough sketches, blueprints, engineer’s drawings, and manufacturing specifications to repair or manufacture composite or plastic products. I use shop mathematic formulas to calculate proper angles, radius, contours, and surfaces to select the appropriate equipment, techniques, and the sequences of work to be accomplished. I control and maintain equipment and tools used in fabricating parts. I use special jigs and holding fixtures for layout, locating, holding, drilling, countersinking, trimming, counter bore, routing, bolting, riveting, and installing various types of fasteners. I use basic hand and power tools such as chisels, hammers, knives, scissors, shears, band and circular saws, drill presses, rivet guns, orbital sanders, and other various sanders. To ensure proper time expended is documented and accurate, I track work control documents through various computer programs. I document actions and maintain records by using computer terminals. I maintain a safe and clean work environment by utilizing safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations. I follow federal and state rules when storing, handling, using, labeling, and disposing of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with environmental safety standards. I perform clean-up duties, such as cleaning equipment, straightening, sweeping, and lining up tools and other property in the assigned area. I promote safety and health in the work place through awareness and compliance with safety rules, regulations and best practices. I remove and correct potential hazards and reports mishaps to the appropriate organizations within established guidelines. When performing certain task I wear the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).
