  • In the construction of a middle school, Mr. Engutan coordinated a monthly meeting with the client to review and update the schedule of several Prime Contractors in a complex multi-Prime project.
  • Both tasks involved the use of either Primavera and/or SureTrak software.

  • In support of a bankruptcy claim, Mr. Engutan assisted in preparing a very high level detail cost analysis, which included providing estimating detail to determine material and labor costs.
  • Analysis included review of job cost reports as well as payment applications.
  • Construction drawings were reviewed as a basis to all takeoff calculations.
  • Contractor schedules were analyzed for schedule impacts and related delay issues.

  • Mr. Engutan was also involved in a construction claims arbitration that evolved during the design and construction of a steel manufacturing facility.
  • Issues between the Owner and the Contractor involved design changes, delays, and coordination of the construction itself.
  • Mr. Engutan spent considerable time working at the project site for over a year.
  • Initially, responsibility was primarily documentation support and daily progress updates.
  • As requested by the client, the role of claims manager was needed and supplied by Mr. Engutan.
  • This involved constant communication with the engineers’ onsite, as well as project management.
  • Mr. Engutan revised and improved the archiving and reporting of daily claims by implementing an on-site database, eliminating a crucial step in reporting.
  • The database enabled supervisors to enter data individually instead of following a set procedure that required multiple reports and multiple administrative personnel to complete the claims process.

  • Mr. Engutan was involved in delay analysis of a cement plant redesign.
  • Tasks included crane and equipment cost analysis, identifying the correct baseline schedule through schedule comparisons, and equipment delivery date analysis.

  • In an international engagement involving a claim on a $150M reduced iron ore plant, Mr. Engutan was responsible for analyzing cost and schedule claims submitted by the construction manager/contractor.
  • The work involved evaluating the project schedule and events leading to delay and developing an onsite document control system.
  • Also, a review of the as-planned and updated schedules was performed to understand construction delays.
  • Specific analysis was performed regarding delay of steel shipments and shakeout in the laydown area.
  • During Mr. Engutan’s length of stay overseas, he was also utilized as a communication liaison for approximately four months.
